Social platforms rent you an audience. Email lets you own one — which is why a newsletter still outperforms most paid channels per euro spent. However, choosing an email marketing platform gets confusing fast, because every provider prices differently and hides the important details in the fine print. So here is how we compare them for Greek clients, and what we usually recommend.

How to compare an email marketing platform

Ignore the feature grids for a moment. Six things actually decide whether you are happy in a year:

  • Deliverability. Your mail travels on shared infrastructure, so the provider’s reputation becomes yours. Ask about DKIM setup and dedicated IP options.
  • Pricing model. Some charge per contact, others per email sent. A list of 20,000 occasional readers costs wildly different amounts under each.
  • Automation depth. Welcome series, abandoned basket, re-engagement. Check what the cheap tier actually includes.
  • EU data handling. Where the data sits matters for your GDPR paperwork.
  • Integrations. WooCommerce, your CRM, and your website forms should connect without custom code.
  • Language and support. Greek-language templates and a support team in your timezone save real hours.

The main options, honestly

Mailchimp remains the most polished and the easiest to learn. However, it prices per contact and gets expensive as your list grows, and its data sits primarily in the US. Good for a first newsletter; often outgrown by year two.

Brevo is the value pick for European businesses. It charges by emails sent rather than contacts, keeps data in the EU, and bundles SMS plus a basic CRM. Consequently it suits businesses with large but quiet lists. The provider’s site lists current tiers.

MailerLite is the simplest good option. Clean editor, fair pricing, enough automation for most service businesses. Meanwhile Klaviyo is the specialist for e-commerce, with deep WooCommerce and Shopify data, product recommendations and revenue attribution — powerful, and priced accordingly.

Finally, technical teams sometimes pair a transactional service such as Amazon SES with a lightweight front end. That is the cheapest at volume, yet you inherit the deliverability work. Only choose it if someone will own it.

The setup that decides your results

Whichever tool you pick, do these four things first. Authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, or your campaigns land in spam — the topic of our guide to business emails landing in spam. Then collect consent properly, with a clear opt-in and a record of it, exactly as your consent setup does for cookies. Next, send from a real person’s address rather than noreply@. Finally, clean the list twice a year, because dead addresses drag your reputation down.

Our short answer: Brevo or MailerLite for most Greek service businesses, Klaviyo if you run a serious shop, Mailchimp if ease of use outranks cost. Above all, pick the platform you will actually use monthly — a beautiful tool sending nothing beats nothing at all by exactly zero. If you want the forms, automations and domain authentication set up together with your site, our team can handle the whole chain.
